WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

All courses offered during the Summer Term are open to students with necessary prerequisites. However, the permission of the instructor is required. Summer Term courses, except for "Beginning Turkish" and "Contemporary Turkey", are also attended by METU students. All other courses have Turkish students in each class giving the visiting students an opportunity to meet local students. 3-credit courses meet 7 hours weekly for 6 weeks or for a total of 42 hours (this is equivalent to regular semester course).

Students will be given an official transcript issued by Middle East Technical University. An official Letter of Attendance may be issued upon request.

 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Be fluent in English
  • Good academic standing
  • Transcipt of records
  • Students certificate or diploma (if newly graduated)

 

Applicants accepted to the program will receive a Letter of Acceptance from METU's Registrar's Office along with other relevant information about travelling to and staying in Ankara. All participants should be on campus before July 2, 2008 for registration, orientation and room assignments. Students who want to be met at the airport should notify the METU Study Abroad Office at least two weeks before their arrival in Ankara. Summer School participants will have METU host students to help with getting to know the campus, questions and needs that may arise.
